You know, if RIB wasn’t going to give Mercedes a storyline worth watching (especially for S4), they should have at least paid better attention to her voice. Meaning: singing quality songs with the vocally worthy—IF she has to sing with anyone at all. They should know that most of the people who love her character are musically inclined and are there because of that voice. This is why there are people who have never watched an episode of Glee a day in their life, and never will, that know about Amber and her singing.
…So fucking utilize it.
I told these fools from the jump that they were going to miss Queen MJ, no matter how deep in denial they were at the moment. They took her kindness for granted, took her vocals for granted, took her side-eye for granted… I actually came across a comment back before season 4 started up that said they wished Mercedes/Amber would be quiet so they could hear Santana/Naya and I almost dragged them to hell tied to a flaming chariot driven by the most unruly of stallions from satan’s stable. They didn’t want to take heed then, now all of a sudden Mercedes is supposed to play Captain Save-A-Show to your asses?
All I know is, when Mercedes returns she better have a fist full of Baby I’m A Star stories about how great her life is in L.A. to throw in their faces. A fist full. But knowing Ryan, it’s safe to say we’ll be given the absolute least.
I’ve convinced myself that the only reason Amber is on the Glee set today is to pick up her final script. Mercedes will meet a multimillionaire and fly away on a private jet and I will be happy.
